In December 2024, Professor Khaled El-Enany, candidate for the post of UNESCO Director-General, delivered a lecture at Charles University in the Czech Republic. The lecture, titled “Museums in Egypt and their Impact on Global Cultural Heritage” focused on the universal importance of heritage and on the enduring significance of Egypt’s heritage and its role in fostering global dialogue and mutual understanding.
Professor El-Enany highlighted the importance of Egyptology in deepening our understanding of history and its role as a tool for uniting civilizations and addressing modern challenges.
The lecture also underscored UNESCO’s mission in safeguarding cultural heritage, advocating for stronger international cooperation to protect and celebrate humanity’s shared legacy.
